Our Story

As one of the fastest growing cities in all of the United States, Raleigh needs more churches. Church planting is one of, if not the, most effective way to engage people with the Gospel. This is why New City Church was planted. We wanted join in with many of the other great churches in our area in helping people develop a relationship with Jesus.

After raising funds and growing a determined team that consisted of about 25 people who met in the Dodson’s home New City was able to transform from a dream to a reality. New City Church launched on April 2, 2017. By God’s grace, New City was able to find it’s own 24/7 facility from the very beginning where we met on Creedmoor road..

The mission of New City since the beginning has been to help people meet Jesus and grow in a relationship with him. Thankfully, God has continued to use New City to this end. In August of 2018, New City moved from one to two Sunday services to accommodate growth. In our relatively short existence, we have learned and grown as a community.

In March of 2020, New City moved to it’s new (and current) location at 6904 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh.

One of our favorite things that we do at New City is the $5 Give Club. Be sure to check it out if you don't know what it is! And if you want to get to know us a little better, you can connect with New City on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Finally, our goal has never been about us, but rather about Jesus. Which means we have a role to play in our church as well as planting other churches as we seek to live out our mission. We'd love for you to join us on a Sunday and see how God might use you in his mission.
