FAQ's

In the meantime, here are some answers to a few questions you might have before your first visit.

What will services be like?

Each week, you will experience inspiring music, an encouraging message, and friendly people. The service typically runs about an hour, with complimentary coffee always available in the lobby.

An average service starts with a greeting, followed by a couple of worship songs, and a short video or two related to the sermon series or announcements. We then continue with a 30 minute sermon, and one or two additional worship songs. Once a month, we take communion during the service.

What time should I arrive?

We meet at 9:30 & 11 AM on Sundays and suggest arriving a few minutes before whichever you chose to attend begins to allow for parking, grabbing coffee, restrooms, etc.

We want you to be able to find a comfortable seat, and you’ll probably feel more acclimated to the room if you have a few minutes to adjust before the service begins. You might even make a new friend!

Do you have something for children?

Absolutely! Children 6 weeks to 5th grade have their own activities designed especially for them in New City Kids, our children’s ministry.

Students 6th through 12th grade can join us at the adult service. If you wish to bring your children with you to the adult service on your first visit, that’s fine too! We are thankful to have your family join us.

If you have children attending New City Kids, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes in advance of our services to get your children registered, because safety first! If you would like to speed up your first New City Kids drop off, you can pre-register your children.

Our Birth – Pre-K environments are open for both services. Elementary is available for our 9:30 AM service only. We invite any elementary aged kids who come to our 11 AM service to join us in the auditorium.

Go here for more information about New City Kid’s birth through elementary aged environments.

What should I wear?

We’re way more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear to church. But so you’ll feel comfortable, know that most folks dress in casual weekend attire, and even the pastor will be wearing jeans. So dress comfortably and you’ll fit right in!

How do I get there?

Do I have to give an offering?

Not at all! In fact, we don’t even pass an offering plate during our services. Instead, we provide offering boxes positioned conveniently on the walls, so people can give if they’d like. Many people use our online giving option as well. Any offerings we receive support the full range of ministries we offer in the church and community, and around the world.

As our guest, we want you to come and get to know us, without feeling any pressure to have to give.

Will I be called out as a guest?

No, we’re not going to call you out, make you wave, stand up, or dance.

However, we’d like to encourage you to fill out a Connect Card. If you do, we’ll follow up with you via email. We promise not to put any unfair pressure on you to ever come again. Although, we hope you will!

All first time guests receive a small gift as our way of saying that we’re really glad you came. To pick yours up, drop by the connect table after the service.

We’re excited you’re considering joining us. We can’t wait to meet you!
